CSIR CECRI Karaikudi Apprentice Recruitment 2026 – ITI, Diploma & Graduate Posts Walk-in

CSIR – Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi has invited applications for engagement of Apprentice Trainees under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961. This official notification covers ITI, Diploma and Graduate candidates and the selection will happen through a walk-in interview at CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the qualification and eligibility rules mentioned in the official notification. The rules are different for ITI, Diploma and Graduate apprentice categories.

For Trade (ITI) Apprentices

• Candidates should have passed in the relevant trade of NCVT pattern designated by D.G.E.&T, except Glass Former and Processor.
• Candidates must be registered as Trade Apprentices in the NAPS portal before the date of walk-in interview.
• For Glass Former and Processor, the qualification is pass in 8th standard from a recognized school.

For Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

• Candidates should have a full-time Diploma in relevant Engineering or Technology discipline from a recognized State Council, Board, University or Institution.

For Graduate (Degree) Apprentices

• Candidates should have a full-time graduate degree from a recognized university or institution in the relevant discipline.
• Engineering Graduate post requires B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Non-Engineering Graduate post requires Bachelor Degree in any discipline.
• Graduate and Technician candidates who passed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 are eligible.

Not Eligible

• Any Post Graduation, including integrated PG course.
• Candidates from non-approved institutions by AICTE, DOTE or UGC.
• Candidates who already underwent apprenticeship training earlier or are pursuing apprenticeship in the same qualification.
• Candidates with one year or more work experience after acquiring the essential qualification.
• Sandwich diploma, private diploma, part-time, distance, short-term and certificate courses are not acceptable.

Age Limit

The age limit will be counted as on the date of interview, which is 10 August 2026.

Age relaxation is applicable as per Government rules for reserved categories. Ex-servicemen get upper age relaxation up to an additional 10 years to the extent of service rendered in Defence Forces.

Salary / Pay Scale

The notification gives category-wise stipend details for apprentice trainees.

Selection Process

The selection process is based on a walk-in interview at CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi. If the number of candidates is high, the Selection Committee may adopt its own criteria to shortlist candidates in proportion to the available vacancies.

The decision of the Director, CSIR-CECRI will be final in all matters related to eligibility, acceptance, rejection and selection.

3. ITI candidates should register on apprenticeshipindia.org.
4. Graduate and Diploma candidates should register on nats.education.gov.in.
5. Fill all details in the application form, including the enrolment number generated after successful portal registration.
6. Bring the filled application form, original documents, one set of self-attested photocopies and passport-size photo on the interview date.
7. Report at CSIR-CECRI, Karaikudi by 08:45 AM on 10 August 2026.

NAPS Registration for ITI Candidates

1. Go to https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and click Login/Register.
2. Select candidate and complete registration.
3. Watch demo videos before starting registration, as advised in the notification.
4. Make sure your name matches Aadhaar, PAN or other valid government ID and also matches your ITI or SSLC certificates.

NATS Registration for Diploma and Graduate Candidates

1. Go to https://nats.education.gov.in and click Register as a candidate.
2. Complete the application form and generate the unique enrolment number.
3. Wait at least one day for enrolment verification and approval.
4. Login again and click Establishment Request Menu.
5. Select Find Establishment and search for CSIR-CECRI.
6. Upload resume and click apply.

Important Instructions

• Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS will be followed as per Apprentices Act guidelines.
• Candidates claiming reservation must submit proper certificates in Government of India format.
• If documents are not produced at the time of walk-in interview, candidature will not be considered.
• Selected candidates may get accommodation in institute campus if available, and licence fee will be charged.
• Successful trainees will be awarded National Apprenticeship Certificate by NCVT or BOAT.
