Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess the following qualifications as on the closing date of application:

Dual/Integrated Degree Programmes

• If CGPA/Percentage for Graduation and Post-Graduation is mentioned separately, only the Graduation level CGPA/percentage will be considered.
• If a common CGPA/percentage for the entire course is mentioned, that final CGPA/percentage will be used for eligibility.
• If no CGPA/percentage is prescribed in the Dual/Integrated Degree Certificate, the cumulative CGPA/percentage as per Final/Consolidated Mark Sheet will be considered.

Nationality

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.

Allied Disciplines

Allied disciplines acceptable under Electronics, Mechanical, and Computer Science are mentioned in the FAQs uploaded on the ISRO website against this advertisement.

Age Limit

The upper age limit is 28 years as on 16-09-2026.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation is available as per Government of India orders for the following categories:

Selected candidates will be appointed as Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

Written Test/CBT

The Written Test/CBT will be conducted at 37 venues across India including Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh/Mohali, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Ernakulam, Gorakhpur, Gurugram, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kavaratti, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Tiruchirapalli, Thiruvananthapuram, Varanasi, Vijayawada, and Vishakhapatnam.

Interview Shortlisting

Based on performance in the Written Test/CBT, candidates will be shortlisted for Interview in the ratio of 1:5, with an aggregate minimum of 10 candidates. For reserved vacancies, distinct/additional candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:5 (maximum), without regard to reserved candidates shortlisted under UR category.

Exam Pattern

Qualifying Criteria for Written Test/CBT

Syllabus

Detailed syllabus is Not Mentioned in Official Notification. However, Part A questions will be based on the respective engineering discipline (Electronics, Mechanical, or Computer Science) at BE/B.Tech level. Part B will cover aptitude and reasoning topics as listed above.

Required Documents

• Recent colour passport-size photograph (not older than 3 months) in .jpg or .jpeg format only (Size: 100 KB to 200 KB; Dimensions: 200 x 230 pixels preferred; Photo size: 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm)
• Signature in .jpg or .jpeg format only (Size: 80 KB to 150 KB; Dimensions: 140 x 60 pixels preferred; Sign on white paper with black ink pen; not in CAPITAL LETTERS)
• SC/ST/Disability/Ex-servicemen certificate (any one certificate) as applicable for full refund of Processing Fee

Photo Specifications

• Must be a recent passport-style colour picture
• Taken against a light-coloured, preferably white background
• If wearing glasses, ensure no reflections and eyes are clearly visible
• Caps, hats, and dark glasses are not acceptable
• File size must be between 100 KB to 200 KB

Signature Specifications

• Sign on white paper with black ink pen
• File size must be between 80 KB to 150 KB
• Signature should be clearly visible and not in CAPITAL LETTERS

Documents to Produce During Interview/Document Verification

• All original documents in proof of details furnished in the online application (Educational certificates, mark sheets, age proof, category certificate, etc.)
• PwBD Certificate (for PwBD candidates): Self-attested copy in prescribed format issued by a Medical Board of at least 3 members (including one specialist), clearly indicating percentage of disability (minimum 40% for reservation). Candidates are advised to get their manual certificate digitized on the UDID portal.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer (for candidates employed under Central/State Government, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, etc.)
• Any other documents as called for by ICRB/ISRO

How to Apply

Applications are invited online only through the ISRO website. Follow these steps to apply:

1. Visit the official ISRO website and navigate to the recruitment section for Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’.
2. Click on the online registration link (available from 27-08-2026 to 16-09-2026).
3. Register using your valid email ID and mobile number (if required). Candidates registered under the National Career Services (NCS) portal may also apply.

• Processing Fee: ₹750/- (to be paid by all candidates initially)
• Non-refundable Application Fee: ₹250/- (deducted from the processing fee)
• Refund: ₹500/- will be refunded to candidates who appear in the Written Test/CBT (after deducting ₹250/- application fee). Full refund for candidates exempted from application fee (Women, SC/ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen).
• Payment Mode: Online only via Bharatkosh (Internet Banking, UPI, Domestic Debit Cards). Cash, cheque, draft, money order, IPO, etc. are not accepted.
• Last date for fee payment: 16-09-2026 (same as application closing date)

General Instructions & Warnings

• Only Indian nationals need apply.
• Appointees are liable to be posted in any ISRO Centre/Unit and may be transferred at any time on need basis.
• The number of vacancies is provisional. ISRO reserves the right to increase/decrease vacancies.
• ICRB/ISRO reserves the right not to fill up posts without assigning any reason.
• The posts are temporary, but likely to continue.
• Multiple applications for the same post should be avoided. In case of duplicate applications, only the one against which the application fee has been received within the last date will be considered.

Employed Candidates

• They must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) in original at the time of Interview. Failure to submit NOC will result in disqualification from the Interview and no TA will be paid.
• If a candidate gets/changes employment after applying, they must inform the employer and submit NOC at the time of Interview.

Communication

• All further communications will be through the candidate’s registered email ID and ISRO website only.
• Candidates are advised to check their email (including spam/junk folders) and the ISRO website regularly.
• ISRO will not be responsible for non-receipt of any intimation sent via email/website.

Answer Key & Objections

• Answer Keys will be published on the ISRO website within 3 working days of the Written Test/CBT.
• Candidates may raise objections with valid justifications within 5 days of Answer Key publication, ONLY through the link provided after the Written Test/CBT.
• Objections received thereafter or through any other mode will not be considered.

Travel Allowance (TA)

• No TA will be paid for attending the Written Test.
• Candidates attending the Interview will be reimbursed to-and-fro second-class train fare by the shortest route from the city indicated in the online application to the place of Interview.
• Change of address/city for TA purpose will not be entertained.
