Candidates can opt for training seats in only ONE State. They can give their order of preference for all districts of the selected State, but the allotment is need-based and subject to the availability of seats. The Bank reserves the right to allot a training seat in any district of the selected State as per administrative requirements.

Canara Bank Apprentice Educational Qualification 2026

Graduate Apprentice A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government (as on 01.09.2026) Graduation must have been passed not earlier than 01.01.2023 and not later than 01.09.2026 (both days inclusive). Candidates who have undergone training, or have job experience of one or more years after completing the educational qualification, are not eligible
  • Local Language Test: Candidates who have studied the opted local language in the 10th or 12th standard (mark sheet / certificate) are exempt from the local language test. Others must pass the test conducted during Document Verification, otherwise they will not be engaged.
  • Other Conditions: Candidates must not have undergone, or be undergoing, apprenticeship training with Canara Bank or any other organization earlier. Ex-servicemen / Disabled Ex-servicemen will not be engaged as apprentices.
  • Medical Fitness: Engagement is subject to the candidate being declared medically fit as per the Bank’s requirement.

  • Maximum Age: The maximum age of 28 years is applicable to General and EWS category candidates.

Stipend & Training Details

  • Training Period: 12 months of On-the-Job Training at select branches of the Bank.
  • Monthly Stipend: Rs 16,650/- (including the Government of India subsidy, if any). Canara Bank pays Rs 10,500/- per month, and the Government share of Rs 6,150/- is credited directly to the apprentice’s bank account through DBT.
  • Leave: One casual leave on completion of every month of training, with a total of 12 casual leaves in a year. Only 4 casual leaves can be availed at a time.
  • Certificate: NATS joint certification is awarded after completing the training.
  • Important: Apprentices are not employees of Canara Bank. PF, ESI and Bonus are not applicable, and the Bank has no obligation to offer regular employment after the training.

Selection Process

  1. Merit List: A State-wise merit list is prepared in descending order of marks / percentage obtained in the 12th Std (HSC / 10+2) / Diploma examination, based only on the information submitted in the online application. Candidates with equal percentage are ranked by age in descending order.
  2. Minimum Qualifying Marks: Not less than 60% (55% for SC / ST / PwBD candidates) in the 12th Std / Diploma examination. Fractions are ignored, so 59.99% is treated as less than 60%.
  3. Document Verification: Original documents are verified, and the local language test is conducted during this stage, where applicable.
  4. Medical Fitness: Final selection is subject to verification of eligibility, qualification in the local language test and being declared medically fit.

A State-wise and category-wise waitlist will be maintained for one year from the date of the result or until the next engagement exercise, whichever is earlier.

How to Apply for Canara Bank Apprentice Recruitment 2026

  1. Register on the NATS apprenticeship portal (link given in the Important Links section below) if you are not already registered. Complete your profile to 100% and note down your enrolment number.
  2. Open the official Canara Bank website, go to Careers, then Recruitment, and click on “Engagement of Graduate Apprentices in Canara Bank under Apprentices Act, 1961 for FY 2026-27”.
  3. Click on “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” and enter your basic details along with your NATS enrolment ID. Note down the provisional registration number and password.
  4. Fill in the application carefully. Your name must match your SSC / SSLC / X Standard marks card. Use the “Save and Next” facility to verify the details before the final submission.
  5. Upload your scanned photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm), signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as per the specified size and format. Signature and declaration in capital letters are not accepted.
  6. Pay the application fee online (if applicable) and click on the final submit button.
  7. Take a printout of the system-generated application form and e-receipt, and keep them with the registration number and password.

The handwritten declaration must be in the candidate’s own handwriting, in English and not in capital letters. Candidates must have a valid personal email ID and mobile number that stay active until the process is complete. Only the NATS registration plus the Bank’s online application is accepted, and no other mode of application is valid.

Documents Required at the Time of Engagement

  • Printout of the system-generated online application
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or SSLC / Std. X certificate)
  • Photo ID proof (Passport / Aadhaar / PAN Card / Voter ID / Driving Licence)
  • Mark sheets and certificates from SSC onwards up to the highest examination passed, including the final degree
  • Income and Asset Certificate (for EWS candidates)
  • Caste Certificate in the prescribed format (for SC / ST / OBC candidates); OBC candidates need a valid non-creamy layer certificate
  • UDID card and Disability Certificate (for PwBD candidates)
  • Any other relevant document in support of eligibility
