Selection Process

The selection for UPPSC Recruitment 2026 will be done in the following stages:

1. Screening Examination (Objective Type): Each question has four options. A wrong answer carries negative marking of one third (0.33) of the marks of that question. Multiple answers are treated as wrong. No penalty for a blank answer.
2. Interview: Only candidates who qualify in the Screening Examination are called for interview.
3. Final Merit: Final merit is prepared by adding 75% marks of the Screening Examination and 25% marks of the Interview.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates are checked at the time of interview.

Minimum qualifying marks in the Screening Examination are 35% for SC/ST candidates and 40% for other categories.

How to Apply for UPPSC Recruitment 2026

1. Complete One Time Registration (OTR) at otr.pariksha.nic.in and get your OTR Number. The Commission says to obtain it 72 hours before submitting the online application.
2. Visit uppsc.up.nic.in, open “All Notifications/Advertisements” and select Advertisement No. D-6/E-1/2025.
3. Click “Apply”, choose “Yes” for completed OTR, enter your OTR Number and authenticate with OTP or OTR password.
4. Fill the essential qualification details for the post you are applying for and choose Yes/No for preferential qualifications.
5. Pay the fee through the SBI MOPS page (Net Banking, Card or Other Payment Modes) before the last date.
6. Submit the application, take a print of the submitted form and keep it safe. Hard copies and documents are to be sent only when the Commission asks for them.
