Selection Process

1. Competitive Examination (MCQ):
   • Paper-I (Nursing Subject): 100 marks, 2 hours – Fundamental of Nursing (20), Medical Surgical Nursing (20), Midwifery and Paediatric Nursing (20), Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing (20), Community Health Nursing (20). Can be attempted in Gujarati or English.
   • Paper-II (Gujarati Language): 100 marks, 2 hours – Language (30), Grammar (40), Literature (30). Only in Gujarati.
   • Negative marking of 1/4 mark for every wrong answer.
   • Minimum 40% marks required separately in Paper-I and Paper-II. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks in both papers.
2. Document Verification: About two times the number of candidates for each category will be called for verification of certificates on the basis of merit.
3. Selection List / Waiting List: Prepared category-wise on the basis of merit.
4. Recommendation for Appointment: The Board will recommend selected candidates to the concerned Government department for appointment.

Widow candidates and candidates who have represented at the specified sports levels will get 5% additional marks as per Government rules, subject to submission of valid proof.

1. Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in, if not already done. Only OTR-registered candidates can apply.
2. Visit https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in, click on “Apply” under “On line Application” and select GSSSB.
3. Click on Advertisement No. 458/202627, Staff Nurse, Class-3 and click “Apply”. Read the details under “More Details”.
4. Click “Apply now”, enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth, and click “Apply with OTR”.
5. Fill in the Personal Details and Educational Details carefully as per your original certificates.
6. Select “Yes” in the Assurance section and click “Save”. Note down the Application Number generated.
7. Upload your photograph (5 cm height x 3.6 cm width) and signature (2.5 cm height x 7.5 cm width) in JPG format, each not more than 15 KB. The photo must be passport size with a white background and the date of the photograph, and must not be older than one year from the last date of application.
8. Check all details carefully and click “Confirm Application”. Save the Confirmation Number. No changes are possible after confirmation.
9. Pay the examination fee online by 15/10/2026 (23:59 hrs) and save the fee receipt.
10. Take a printout of the confirmed application form and keep it safe until the recruitment process is complete.
